Seattle Amistad School is an independent two-way immersion school that opened in 2012 in the Central District. Students at Amistad experience a rigorous, dynamic academic curriculum where they also develop full bilingualism and biliteracy in Spanish and English. Our mission is to foster community integrity through rigorous bilingual and bicultural education, and to develop our students’ academic strengths and cultural sensibilities, while nurturing them as compassionate and engaged citizens.

One of our primary sources of funding is from our annual auction. Since we opened our doors in 2012, we have been growing exponentially. We are growing our Central Site! Amistad Central is ready for a new building that can keep up with our growth and support the needs of our students and families.

Due to the events taking place in our world and in our community, we are unable to host our Annual Amistad Community Gala in person. We will miss dancing, celebrating and connecting with the community.

Despite the current circumstances, we still need your support to continue to provide families with scholarship funds and raise money for our new Central Amistad location.  As you may already know, Seattle Amistad School provides over 1 million dollars in scholarship funds to support the needs of families. The Chris Kinsey Scholarship Fund is one of the backbones of the Amistad community. Providing scholarships to families enables Amistad to create a genuinely diverse community, committed to an anti-racist culture and quality education regardless of financial circumstance.

We are committed to creating a safe space for all families. We look forward to seeing you at our live virtual event.
