2026 Seattle Amistad Middle School Class Trip to Puerto Rico
At Seattle Amistad School, we believe that bilingual, bicultural education extends beyond the classroom. Each year, our middle schoolers embark on an immersive class trip to a Spanish-speaking country—a transformative tradition that brings their learning to life.
This spring, our students will travel to Puerto Rico for an unforgettable educational journey. They'll walk through the cobblestone streets of Old San Juan, discovering centuries of history. They'll learn about the Indigenous Taíno people whose legacy still shapes the island today. They'll explore the stunning salt flats of Cabo Rojo and experience firsthand the culture, language, and traditions they've been studying all year.
These trips are more than travel—they're opportunities for our students to see themselves reflected in the broader world, to build confidence as bilingual global citizens, and to create memories that will inspire them for years to come.
We need your help to make this trip accessible to every single student. We're raising funds to ensure that cost is never a barrier to participation. Every contribution—whether $25 or $250—brings us closer to our goal of 100% student participation.

2026 Viaje de la Clase de Secundaria de Seattle Amistad a Puerto Rico
En Seattle Amistad School, creemos que la educación bilingüe y bicultural va más allá del salón de clases. Cada año, nuestras y nuestros estudiantes de secundaria realizan un viaje inmersivo a un país de habla hispana—una tradición transformadora que les permite vivir lo que aprenden.
Esta primavera, nuestras y nuestros estudiantes viajarán a Puerto Rico para una experiencia educativa inolvidable. Caminarán por las calles empedradas del Viejo San Juan, descubriendo siglos de historia. Aprenderán sobre el pueblo indígena taíno, cuya herencia sigue dando forma a la isla hoy en día. Explorarán las impresionantes salinas de Cabo Rojo y vivirán de primera mano la cultura, el idioma y las tradiciones que han estado estudiando durante todo el año.
Estos viajes son más que turismo—son oportunidades para que nuestro alumnado se vea reflejado en el mundo más amplio, para que desarrollen confianza como ciudadanos globales bilingües y para que creen recuerdos que los inspirarán por muchos años.
